Description
This short journey through the Moroccan desert, a 4-day road trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, promises a great adventure. Begin by crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’ Tichka Pass, offering breathtaking views of the south along the way. Following the route of the Thousand Kasbahs through the valleys, discover traditional Berber villages, explore the Todgha Gorges, and wander through the splendid palm groves of Tinghir and Dadès. Finally, behold the vast red dunes of Merzouga, embark on a camel ride to admire the sunset, then enjoy dinner and spend the night under the stars in a desert camp.
The return to Marrakech passes through the Agdz oasis, providing a different route. This variation enriches the 4-day circuit from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi desert, one of the best excursions in southern Morocco.

Itinerary
Departure in the morning from Marrakech by vehicle towards the High Atlas and the Tichka Pass (2260 m). Then, you head towards the beautiful site of Ait Ben Haddou kasbah via the ancient caravan route. Lunch and visit to this UNESCO World Heritage jewel. You continue your journey towards the Dades Gorges and the "Valley of Roses," passing through Ouarzazate and the Skoura palm grove. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After a walk through the gorges, you head south towards the desert. You stop at the Todgha Gorges for a visit and lunch on site, then continue towards Erfoud and Rissani. Next, you'll drive to Merzouga. There, you'll enjoy a camel ride to explore the dunes and witness the sunset, followed by traditional mint tea. Dinner will be around a campfire, accompanied by nomadic songs, and you'll spend the night at the base of the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Early wake-up to witness the sunrise, followed by breakfast and departure to cross the Tafilalet region and the vast mineral expanse of the Bougafer massif, heading towards Alnif and Tazzarine. After lunch, continue your journey to N'kob, then through the beautiful Draa Valley, arriving at the Agdz oasis. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse in the palm grove.
Early morning departure towards Marrakech through the Anti-Atlas "Black Mountain" to Ouarzazate, then onward to Marrakech via the Tichka Pass.
